Book Description:

Quentin Jacobsen has spent a lifetime loving the magnificently adventurous Margo Roth Spiegelman from afar. So when she cracks open a window and climbs back into his life—dressed like a ninja and summoning him for an ingenious campaign of revenge—he follows.

After their all-nighter ends and a new day breaks, Q arrives at school to discover that Margo, always an enigma, has now become a mystery. But Q soon learns that there are clues—and they’re for him. Urged down a disconnected path, the closer he gets, the less Q sees of the girl he thought he knew.

My Review:

John Green writes those one-of-a-kind books. This is my third book by him, and so far I feel like all of his books are fascinating, they are all written in a way that people can really relate to the characters. That is what I really love about the stories he tells is that in a way they are all real.

From the start Paper Towns will catch your attention, from the very first scene, you already will want to know what will happen in this story. This story was fun, adventurous but it was also serious. I just love how John Green can mix different elements together and make it just amazingly right. It was a quick read because the story really does suck you in and you keep reading until you know all of the answers.

“Nothing ever happens like you imagine it will… but then again, if you don’t imagine, nothing ever happens at all."

The two main characters were so opposite of one another that it made it even more fun to read about them. Quentin Jacobsen is a loyal and smart boy who is all about routine and who doesn't mind being bored. Margo Roth Spiegelman is opposite, she loves adventures and she can't stand to be bored for a second. She is wild, but also at times self-centered. She is a girl full of adventures that everyone just want to have that part of her life. He follows her on her adventure of revenge because of his attraction, and he searches for her because of his devotion that he can't even make sense of. I loved both of the main characters in this book, heck I can say I loved all of the characters in this book, which I always do with John Green's books!

“Margo always loved mysteries. And in everything that came afterward, I could never stop thinking that maybe she loved mysteries so much that she became one.”

I love how this book doesn't even involves around romance like a lot of books do. That is also what I love about John Green books, is that behind each book there is always a greater meaning. Paper Towns is not really a book about a mystery of finding Margo, it is more about a mystery of finding yourself, and who you truly are and the people around you. I would definitely recommend this and any other book by John Green to anyone who enjoys a good read.

“When did we see each other face-to-face? Not until you saw into my cracks and I saw into yours. Before that, we were just looking at ideas of each other, like looking at your window shade but never seeing inside. But once the vessel cracks, the light can get in. The light can get out.”
